How to Use Discord Access Control as a Whitelist
What Access Control Does
Simple Discord Link can act like a whitelist driven by Discord. Instead of maintaining a separate Minecraft whitelist file, you let Discord roles decide who may join. Players who have the required role in your Discord server are allowed in; others are turned away.
Configuring the Required Role
Open the mod config and locate the access control section. Enable it and specify the Discord role ID that grants access. You can usually choose whether the check happens at login or continuously. Copy the role ID by right-clicking the role in Discord with Developer Mode enabled.
Managing Players
To grant access, assign the role to a user in Discord. To revoke access, remove the role. Because the mod reads Discord roles, changes take effect without editing Minecraft files. Make sure the bot has permission to view members and roles, otherwise it cannot verify anyone. If players who should have access are being denied, confirm the role ID in config matches the role you assigned, and that the bot's own role sits high enough in the Discord hierarchy to see that role. Restart the server after changing access settings.
