Obtain a Dragon Egg with Silk Touch

Requirements

You need a pickaxe with Silk Touch enchantment. The egg is only available in The End dimension after defeating the Ender Dragon.

Steps

1. Travel to The End and defeat the Ender Dragon if you haven't already.

2. After the dragon dies, the egg will appear on top of the exit portal.

3. Equip your Silk Touch pickaxe.

4. Mine the dragon egg block. It will drop as an item instead of teleporting away.

5. Collect the egg and transport it back to the Overworld.

6. Place it anywhere by right-clicking with the egg in your hand.

Notes

Normally, breaking a dragon egg causes it to teleport to a random nearby location. Silk Touch prevents this, letting you keep it permanently. The collected egg is purely decorative when placed—it won't hatch or spawn dragons. This is useful for building or displaying in your base.
