Collect Unbitten Cake with Silk Touch

Requirements

You need a pickaxe or any tool with Silk Touch. Cake must be in its full, unbitten state (8 slices remaining).

Steps

1. Locate or craft a cake block. Cake is found in generated structures or crafted from milk and ingredients.

2. Ensure the cake has not been eaten from (it must be at full size).

3. Equip your Silk Touch tool and mine the cake.

4. The cake will drop as an item instead of disappearing.

5. Pick it up and place it elsewhere by right-clicking.

Notes

Once cake is placed and players eat from it, it becomes partially consumed. You cannot collect partially-eaten cake with Silk Touch—only full cakes can be harvested this way. This allows you to preserve decorative cakes or transport them without losing them to the normal breaking mechanic. Collected cake functions normally when placed and can be eaten again.
