Collect Budding Amethyst from Multiple Geodes

Preparing for Geode Exploration

Bring a pickaxe with Silk Touch enchantment and plenty of inventory space. Budding amethyst blocks are heavy, so consider bringing a shulker box or multiple trips. Locate amethyst geodes by exploring caves, particularly in deep underground areas.

Identifying Budding Amethyst

Budding amethyst blocks are smooth purple blocks without visible crystal growth. They differ from amethyst clusters (which have visible crystals) and regular amethyst blocks. Only budding amethyst can be harvested with Silk Touch to obtain the block itself.

Efficient Collection

Mine all budding amethyst blocks you find in a geode—there's no downside to collecting them. Each block you obtain is another source of passive shard production at your base. If your inventory fills up, drop blocks temporarily and return with more space.

Visit multiple geodes to accumulate a large collection. More budding amethyst blocks means faster overall shard farming and more flexibility in farm design.
