Set Up Your First Potion Cauldron

Crafting and Placement

Locate or craft a Potion Cauldron—this is your brewing hub. Place it on the ground in a safe location, ideally near a heat source like fire or lava to speed up brewing. The cauldron must contain water; fill it using a bucket or by positioning it in rain.

Adding Ingredients

Gather ingredients from the world. Each ingredient has four core properties: purity, vitality, flavor, and stability. Use a spoon or pestle to add items directly into the boiling water. The mod will track how these properties interact—high stability prevents unwanted reactions, while low stability can cause explosions.

Monitoring Your Brew

Watch the cauldron's bubbling animation. Different colors indicate different ingredient combinations. Use the Effect Codex (a guide item you can craft) to see what status effects your current mixture will produce. Once satisfied with the blend, use a bottle to collect your potion.

First Success

Start simple: combine just two or three ingredients with complementary properties. Avoid mixing ingredients with wildly negative stability values until you understand the system better.
