How to Make Only Your Own Armor Invisible and Leave Everyone Else's Alone

Why You See Other Players' Armor

Armor rendering is handled per entity. Show Me Your Skin gives you separate controls so you can strip armor visuals from your own character without touching how other players look, which is useful on servers where you want a clean personal look but still want to read opponents' gear.

1. Open the config and locate the section that distinguishes your player from other players.

2. Enable hiding for your own armor slots only.

3. Leave the "other players" options at their defaults so their armor stays visible.

Reading Gear in PvP

Keeping other players' armor visible is a real tactical advantage. You can tell at a glance whether someone is wearing diamond, netherite, or leather, and adjust your approach accordingly. If you instead want a fully cosmetic server experience, you can also hide other players' armor, but be aware you lose that information. Test your settings by standing near another armored player and toggling the option back and forth to see exactly what changes. If nothing changes for other players, confirm you edited the correct category rather than the self category, since the two are easy to mix up in a busy config screen.
