How to Configure Show Me Your Skin So Settings Actually Stick
Finding and Saving the Config
A frequent frustration is making a change that seems to revert. The fix is understanding where the mod stores its settings and how it applies them.
1. Reach the config through the mod list's config button or the in-game options the mod adds.
2. Make your armor visibility changes one at a time.
3. Save or apply before closing the screen, and avoid closing with the escape key if that discards changes.
4. Confirm the setting persisted by reopening the config.
Client vs Server Behavior
Most armor rendering changes are client-side, meaning they change what you see. If you expect other players to see your hidden armor, the mod generally needs to be present on their side or the server side too. Test on a local world first to confirm your settings behave as expected, then move to a server. If a setting resets after a restart, check whether a config file is being overwritten or whether you edited a temporary preview rather than the saved value. Keeping changes small and verifying each one prevents confusion, and it makes it easy to pinpoint which toggle caused an unexpected result.
