Unlocking Thunder Spear Recipes

Thunder spears are explosive weapons designed for massive damage against titans. Open your Advancements tab and follow the crafting tree to unlock the thunder spear recipe. You'll need materials from defeated titans and basic crafting components.

Crafting and Inventory

Craft thunder spears at a crafting table in batches—you'll want multiple spears for extended titan encounters. Store them in your inventory or nearby chests for quick access during combat.

Combat Usage

Thunder spears deal explosive damage on impact:

1. Equip a spear from your hotbar

2. Use your attack/use key to throw or deploy it

3. Aim for weak points (nape, joints) for maximum effectiveness

4. The explosion damages the titan and nearby blocks

Tactical Tips

Use thunder spears when you're close enough to guarantee a hit—they're more effective than firearms at point-blank range. Combine them with mobility gear to approach safely, strike, and retreat. For larger titans, coordinate spear throws with teammates or cannon fire for devastating combined damage.

Thunder spears consume durability or are single-use depending on your mod version, so manage your supply carefully during long battles.
