Style Item Names with Custom Colors and Formatting

Using Item Name Style Component

ShiftedLib allows you to customize how item names appear in your inventory and tooltips using the shiftedlib:item_name_style component.

Apply a Custom Color

Add the component to any item with a hex color code:

`

shiftedlib:item_name_style="#FF5733"

`

Replace FF5733 with your desired RGB hex value. The item's name will display in that color whenever it appears in tooltips, inventory, or chat.

Apply Predefined Styles

Instead of a hex code, you can reference built-in style presets:

`

shiftedlib:item_name_style={<style>}

`

These styles work similarly to item rarity formatting, applying both color and potentially text effects. Check your mod's configuration or other modded items to see available style names.

Where It Appears

The styled name displays in:

  • Item tooltips when hovering
  • Chat messages
  • Item frames and displays
  • Inventory screens

This is useful for quest items, special rewards, or thematic organization of your modpack.
