Enable Item and Block Tags in Advanced Tooltips
Displaying Tags in Tooltips
ShiftedLib can show you which tags an item or block belongs to, helping you understand mod compatibility and crafting system integration.
Enable the Feature
1. Open your shiftedlib_client.json config file (located in your config folder)
2. Find the tagsTooltips setting
3. Set it to true:
`json
"tagsTooltips": true
`
4. Save the file and reload your client configs using /shiftedlib_client reloadClientConfigs
View Tags In-Game
1. Enable Advanced Tooltips in your game settings (F3 + H by default)
2. Hover over any item or block
3. Tags now appear at the bottom of the tooltip, showing entries like minecraft:planks, forge:ores/copper, etc.
Why This Matters
Tags determine:
- Which recipes an item can substitute into
- Mod compatibility and cross-mod support
- Automation system behavior
- Loot table inclusion
This is especially useful when debugging recipes or understanding why an item won't work in a particular crafting system.
