Why Scroll Direction Gets Weird

Some macOS configurations or Minecraft versions reverse scroll direction when Shift is held. This creates an inverted, unintuitive hotbar cycling experience—scrolling up cycles down and vice versa.

What the Mod Does

By converting horizontal scroll input to vertical scroll, the mod bypasses the macOS Shift+scroll behavior entirely. This eliminates the reversal problem and restores predictable, standard scrolling.

Result

After installing this mod:

• Scroll up = cycle forward through hotbar
• Scroll down = cycle backward through hotbar
• Behavior is consistent whether sneaking or not

The fix applies globally to all scroll-based hotbar navigation while holding Shift, so you won't encounter direction confusion during combat, building, or inventory management.
