Understanding the Shield Status Overlay

Shield Statuses Mod adds a colored overlay to your shield so you can tell at a glance whether it is active or disabled. Rather than replacing or repainting the shield texture, the mod draws a customizable color layer on top of it. This means your resource pack still shows through, and any custom shield design you use stays intact.

The overlay color for each status is configurable through the mod menu. You choose which color represents an enabled shield and which represents a disabled one, letting you match your preferences or your pack's palette. Because the mod only renders an overlay, it does not interfere with how shields look or function otherwise.

The mod also corrects earlier display bugs, so the color you see accurately reflects the shield's real status during play. The result is a clear, non-intrusive visual cue that works alongside custom resource packs.
