Set Up Your Server After a Fresh Restart

Understand the First-Join System

The first player to join after a server restart determines the starting health and hunger values for everyone. Plan who logs in first—ideally someone at full health and full hunger.

Prepare the First Player

Before restarting, have your designated first player eat a full meal and ensure they're at maximum health. If they join with low health or hunger, the entire server starts handicapped. Avoid joining immediately after taking damage.

Coordinate the Restart Timing

Announce the restart to all players so everyone knows when to expect the server to come back online. Have your first player ready to join within a few minutes of the restart completing. This ensures a smooth start with optimal initial stats.

Verify Starting Conditions

Once the first player joins and the shared stats are set, have others log in and confirm everyone sees the same health and hunger values. If the starting stats seem low, you may need to restart again with a better-prepared first player.
