Enable Smooth Entity Shadows in Your World

Load the Resource Pack

Smooth Entity Shadows works as a resource pack, so you need to activate it in your world or server settings.

1. Open your world or create a new one

2. Go to Settings → Resource Packs

3. Find Smooth Entity Shadows in the available packs list

4. Click the arrow to move it into the Active section

5. Confirm and return to your world

Verify It's Working

Once loaded, walk near any mob—a cow, pig, horse, or even a dropped item on the ground. You should see a soft, circular shadow beneath them instead of the default blocky square shadow. The effect applies to all mobs automatically; no configuration needed.

If shadows still look blocky, make sure the pack is above the Default pack in your active list. Resource packs higher in the list override those below them.
