Fix Shadow Drop Performance Issues

Identify Performance Loss

If you notice frame rate drops after installing Shadow Drop, the mod is likely the cause. Opening large chests or viewing full inventories doubles the number of items rendered on screen, which increases GPU load.

Disable Batched Rendering

Open your shadowdrop-client.toml configuration file in your mod config folder. Locate the use-batched-renderer setting and set it to false. This is especially important if you use the EMI mod, which conflicts with batched rendering.

Disable Conflicting Acceleration Features

If you have other performance mods installed, disable their conflicting features in Shadow Drop's config:

  • ImmediatelyFast mod: Set hud_batching to false
  • Accelerated Rendering mod: Set gui_acceleration to false

These settings prevent Shadow Drop from competing with other rendering optimizations.

Test Your Changes

Save the configuration file and restart Minecraft. Open your inventory and a large chest to verify performance has improved. If you still experience lag, try disabling the mod entirely to confirm it was the culprit.
