Display Live Player Counts on Server Buttons

Using PlaceholderAPI for Dynamic Information

ServerSelectorX integrates with PlaceholderAPI to show real-time server data. This lets your menu display current player counts and server status without manual updates.

Setting Up Placeholders

1. Ensure PlaceholderAPI is installed on your server

2. In your menu configuration, add placeholder syntax to button lore or names

3. Use placeholders like %server_players% or %server_status% in your button text

4. Configure which server each placeholder queries

5. Reload with /ssx reload

Best Practices

Place player count information in the lore (description text) rather than the display name for cleaner appearance. Update your menu frequently enough to reflect changes, but not so often that it causes lag. You can also display the server's MOTD or custom status messages using available placeholders.

Players will see current information each time they open the menu, giving them accurate data before joining.
