Understand Season Progress with the Calendar Item

What the calendar shows

The calendar item displays your current season and how far through it you are. It updates automatically as world time passes, showing Early, Mid, or Late stages of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.

How to use the calendar

1. Craft or obtain a calendar item (check your mod's recipe)

2. Hold it in your inventory or hand

3. The item will display the current season name and progress stage

4. Check it after sleeping or world changes to verify seasons are correct

Matching calendar to world time

Your calendar should always reflect the actual season. If it shows a different season than expected:

1. Run /season info to see the exact season time value

2. Compare this to what the calendar displays

3. If they don't match, use /season sync to correct it

Seasonal effects

The calendar is purely informational—it doesn't control seasons. The actual season affects crop growth, mob behavior, and weather in your world. Use the calendar to plan farming or predict environmental changes.
