Enhance Water Appearance and Reflections
Enable Water Wave Effects
In shader settings, locate the water quality section. Ensure wave simulation is enabled—this creates the realistic moving water surface that's a core feature of Serendipity Shaders.
Adjust Reflection Clarity
Find the reflection distance or reflection quality slider. Increasing this value makes water reflect more of the surrounding environment, including sky, clouds, and blocks. Higher values look more realistic but demand more GPU resources.
Optimize for Different Water Types
Water reflections work best when viewing water from above or at shallow angles. The shader automatically handles still water versus flowing water differently, so both rivers and lakes will display appropriate wave patterns.
Combine with Lighting
Water reflections are most striking during clear weather with good lighting. The bloom effect around light sources (torches, lava) will also reflect in water surfaces, creating dynamic, realistic scenes. Test near lava lakes and torch-lit structures to see the full effect of combined lighting and water reflections.
