Setting Up a Fair Hide and Seek Round
Agree on Boundaries and Rules
Before starting, establish which areas are off-limits (if any) and confirm the time limit. Decide whether players can hide outside the house, in the house only, or anywhere on the island. Clear rules prevent arguments and keep the game fun for everyone.
Choose Your Seeker Fairly
Rotate who plays seeker so no single player dominates the role. You can volunteer, draw lots, or use a previous round's winner. This keeps the game balanced and gives everyone a chance to hide.
Set an Appropriate Time Limit
Give hiders enough time to find good spots and settle in—usually at least 30-60 seconds of hiding time after the seeker finishes counting. Too short and hiders can't escape; too long and seekers get bored searching.
Establish a Safe Zone
This gives the game structure and prevents confusion about when rounds start and end.
Test the Map Together
If players are new to the island, do a quick practice round first. Let everyone explore hiding spots and get comfortable with the layout before playing competitively.
