Understand mod compatibility and prevent crashes

How mod checking works

Before any player joins your world, the mod compares their installed mods against yours. If the lists don't match exactly—including mod versions—the joining player will see a compatibility error and won't be able to enter your world. This prevents crashes and world corruption.

Ensuring everyone has the same mods

Make sure all players who want to join have installed the exact same mods in the exact same versions. Share your mod list with your friends so they can replicate it. Even a single missing mod or a different version will cause a mismatch.

What to do if someone can't join

If a friend receives a mod mismatch error, ask them to check their mod folder against yours. They may need to add a missing mod, remove an extra one, or update to match your versions. Once their mod list matches, they can try joining again with a fresh invite code.

This automatic checking means you never have to manually troubleshoot crashes caused by mod conflicts.
