Upgrade Small Candies Into Larger Sizes

Understanding the Upgrade Chain

Once you have basic Exp Candy XS, you can combine smaller candies in your cooking pot to create progressively larger and more powerful versions. Each tier requires a specific number of the previous size.

Perform Candy Upgrades

1. Place your active cooking pot over a lit campfire

2. Add six Exp Candy XS to the pot to create one Exp Candy S

3. Collect your Exp Candy S and repeat with new XS candies

4. Add three Exp Candy S to brew one Exp Candy M

5. Continue this pattern: three Exp Candy M creates one Exp Candy L, and three Exp Candy L creates one Exp Candy XL

Maximize Your Brewing

Larger candies provide more experience to your Pokémon, so upgrading is worthwhile if you have the time. Plan ahead—if you need one Exp Candy XL, you'll need to start with 162 Exp Candy XS (6 × 3 × 3 × 3). Consider setting up multiple pots to speed up the upgrade process.
