Using Pet Bandages to Keep Tamed Pets Alive

Healing and Protecting Tamed Pets

The Save Your Pets Mod adds two items: the Pet Bandage and the Golden Pet Bandage. Both are used on tamed pets to heal them and shield them from harm, so your animal companions can survive fights they would otherwise lose.

To use a bandage, apply it to a tamed pet. The bandage restores the pet's health and grants it protection, letting it take hits that would normally be fatal. The golden variant offers a stronger version of the same effect.

Because the mod is built around combat survival, bandages are most useful when you bring pets along to fight. Keep a supply on hand and apply them before or during a battle rather than waiting until a pet is nearly dead.

Only tamed pets can be bandaged. The mod does not add blocks or change how pets are tamed, so existing pets work with it as-is.
