Begin by exploring beaches and oceans to encounter skeleton pirates—they won't burn in daylight, making them unique threats. Defeat skeleton captains to obtain trophy skulls, treasure keys, and quest orders. These captains represent the most dangerous encounters and drop the most valuable rewards.

Once you've collected trophy skulls, locate skull merchant houses scattered across your world to trade your trophies for equipment and supplies. Use treasure keys found from captains to unlock locked treasure chests hidden on the ocean floor and within sea fortresses.

Arm yourself with cutlasses, daggers, and blunderbombs crafted from standard materials. Sea fortresses spawn in deep ocean biomes and contain waves of enemies guarding core loot rooms. Adjust your world's randomAdventureItemDistanceInChunks setting to control how far treasure and skeleton camps spawn from your base.
