Set a Fake Name for Another Player
Using the Basic Command
To give another player a fake name that appears in chat and above their head:
1. Open chat (T key by default)
2. Type: /fakename set [player] [fakename]
3. Replace [player] with the exact username of the target player
4. Replace [fakename] with the name you want them to display as
5. Press Enter
For example: /fakename set Steve BlueShirt will make the player "Steve" appear as "BlueShirt" to you.
Using Aliases
If you prefer shorter commands, use the alias /fn instead:
/fn set [player] [fakename]
This works identically but requires fewer keystrokes. The fake name will immediately appear in chat messages, death messages, and above the player's head in-game. Other players on the server will still see the real name unless they also run the command on their client.
