Organize Rules into Categories

Why Use Categories

Categories keep your rules organized and make them easier to find and manage. Group related rules together—for example, mob behavior, player mechanics, or world generation settings.

Creating Categories

1. Open your world's Rules4Worlds JSON configuration file

2. Create a category section with a descriptive name

3. Assign your custom rules to this category by nesting them or using a category field

4. Add descriptions to each category so players understand its purpose

5. Save and reload your world

When you query rules in-game, they'll now be grouped by category, making navigation clearer. You can create as many categories as needed—there's no limit.

Managing Multiple Categories

If your world has many rules, consider creating separate categories for different gameplay aspects. This structure makes it simple for other players joining your world to find and understand what rules are active.
