How to Customize the Sky, Stars, Sun, Moon, and Weather in Rubidium Extra

Rubidium Extra ports OptiFine-style world detail options, letting you change how the sky and weather look without a resource pack.

Sky and Celestial Options

In the Rubidium Extra settings, find the section covering sky and celestial details. Here you can toggle or adjust:

  • Sky: Turn the sky rendering on or off entirely, or adjust how it renders.
  • Stars: Hide the star field at night, or keep it. Useful if you find stars distracting or want a cleaner night sky.
  • Sun and Moon: Toggle these individually. Disabling them is handy for screenshots or a stylized look.

Weather and World Details

The same area usually includes weather controls. You can disable rain and snow rendering so storms no longer appear visually, which also helps performance. Note this only affects rendering, not gameplay mechanics like crop growth or lightning.

Change one option at a time and step outside to check the result, since sky changes are easiest to judge in an open area at different times of day. Combine these with the particle settings if you want storms fully invisible.
