Set Up HDR Lighting for Your Shader Pack

Enable HDR with Iris Shaders

Before the mod can display true high dynamic range lighting, you need to configure Iris Shaders correctly.

1. Open the Iris Shaders menu in-game

2. Locate the Colorspace setting

3. Change it from the default to sRGB

4. Load or select your preferred shader pack

5. Close the Iris menu

Calibrate Brightness Settings

Once your shader is active, the mod's HDR features will take effect. To make the lighting look right on your specific monitor:

1. Press F9 to open the brightness configuration menu

2. Adjust the Paper White slider to set your monitor's baseline brightness

3. Use the UI slider to ensure menus and text remain readable

4. Move the Peak brightness slider until bright light sources (sun, lava, glowing blocks) look natural and not blown out

5. Test in different lighting conditions—caves, forests, and open sky

6. Fine-tune until the contrast between light and shadow feels balanced

These settings are saved automatically, so you only need to adjust them once per monitor setup.
