Fixing RP Renames When Custom Textures Do Not Show Up

If you picked a rename from the anvil list but the item still looks vanilla, the problem is almost always on the resource pack side, not the mod. Work through these checks in order.

Pack and load order

  • Open your resource pack screen and confirm the CIT/CEM pack is enabled and positioned above any pack that also touches item models.
  • Make sure RP Renames itself is present and loaded; without it the anvil will not offer the rename list at all.
  • If you recently added or removed packs, reload resources (the standard reload keybind) so the game re-reads the pack files.

Rename and item checks

  • Verify the item actually carries the rename. Hover it and read the name — a typo or a manually typed name that does not match the pack's expected string will not trigger the texture.
  • Confirm the pack supports that specific item type. Many packs cover tools and weapons but not every block or armor piece.
  • Check whether the pack requires the item to be in a particular state (for example, a specific durability or a specific slot) before its CIT rule fires.

Still broken

Test with only the CIT pack and RP Renames enabled. If it works in isolation, another pack is overriding the model, and you need to reorder your packs so the CIT pack wins.
