Connect the Manor to the Mainland with Bridges
Assessing Your Bridge Route
Stand on the manor's outer deck and identify the nearest mainland point. The river width varies—choose a crossing point where the distance is shortest. Check water depth; shallower areas are easier to build across and provide natural support.
Building Your First Bridge
Start from the manor's edge and place wooden planks or logs in a straight line toward the mainland. Build two blocks high to ensure mobs cannot easily jump onto your bridge. Leave gaps if you want a more aesthetic design, but ensure they're small enough to walk across safely.
Adding Safety Features
Once your basic bridge is complete, add railings using fences or walls on both sides. This prevents accidental falls into the river, especially important if you're carrying valuable items. Consider adding torches along the bridge for nighttime navigation.
Expanding Your Network
Once the main bridge is secure, build secondary bridges or pathways to connect different areas of the mainland. This creates a safe travel network and makes resource gathering more efficient.
