Troubleshoot Low Frame Rates with This Shader

Identify Performance Bottlenecks

Open the shader settings and systematically disable features one at a time. Start by turning off colored lighting, then shadows, then any other optional effects. Check your frame rate after each change. This reveals which feature impacts your performance most.

Reduce Shader Intensity

If disabling features doesn't help, lower the intensity values instead. Reduce shadow softness, decrease light spread distance, and lower color saturation. These adjustments keep visual improvements while demanding less from your GPU. Even small reductions often restore smooth gameplay on older hardware.

Adjust Render Distance and Other Settings

Shaders interact with Minecraft's render distance. If frame rates remain low, reduce your render distance slightly—shaders process more chunks when distance is high. Lower your graphics settings (clouds, particles, entity shadows) in the main Video Settings menu. Rift Superfast Shaders is optimized for low-end devices, but extremely old hardware may need additional compromises to maintain playable frame rates.
