Optimize Colored Lighting Effects

Locate Lighting Configuration

Access the shader settings menu and find the colored lighting section. This controls how light from torches, lamps, and other light sources spreads and tints nearby blocks.

Adjust Light Spread and Color Saturation

Use the light radius or spread slider to determine how far colored light travels from its source. Increasing this value makes torchlight glow further across your build; decreasing it keeps light more localized. The color saturation control lets you make light tints more vivid or more subtle. Higher saturation creates warmer, more noticeable colored lighting; lower values keep the effect understated.

Balance Performance and Visuals

If you notice frame rate drops after enabling colored lighting, reduce the light spread distance or saturation slightly. The shader is designed to run smoothly, but aggressive lighting settings on very old hardware may need tweaking. Test your changes in different environments—caves with torches, nether structures, and outdoor areas at night—to ensure the effect looks natural and maintains your frame rate.
