Building a Safe Base on Floating Islands
Choosing Your Island
Select a larger, stable floating island with flat terrain for your main base. Avoid islands that are too small or have steep cliffs—they limit building space and increase fall damage risks. Scout several islands before committing to one.
Fall Protection Essentials
Surrounding your base with barriers is critical. Build walls, fences, or railings around the perimeter to prevent accidental falls into the void. Consider creating a secondary platform below your main base as a safety net.
Bridging Between Islands
Connect nearby islands with bridges for resource gathering and exploration. Use solid blocks like wood or stone—avoid single-block-wide paths that are easy to fall from. Add railings on both sides for safety.
Water and Farming
Floating water bodies exist throughout the landscape, but establishing your own water source is safer. Create a small pool near your base for farming and general use. The floating oceans and rivers can be unreliable for base operations.
Keep your base elevated and organized to maximize usable space on your chosen island.
