Identify Modern Blocks and Items in Classic Style
Recognize Retextured Raw Materials
One of the pack's signature changes is how raw ore items appear. Instead of the modern clumpy ore texture, raw iron, raw gold, and raw copper now display as miniature block shapes—they look like tiny versions of their ore block counterparts.
When you mine ores with a pickaxe and collect the raw materials, check your inventory: you'll see small, pixelated cube icons rather than irregular ore chunks. This keeps the visual language consistent with classic Minecraft.
Spot Retextured Modern Mobs and Blocks
Walk through your world and look for:
- Utility blocks (like amethyst clusters, copper blocks, and deepslate variants) now wear pre-1.14 pixel art styling
- Mobs added after classic versions (like the copper golem) have been redrawn in retro programmer art
- Soul fire in the Nether uses classic flame textures instead of modern blue fire
- Villagers wear their original simple robes and headwear
If you're using The Broken Script mod, its custom blocks and items also receive classic-style textures. The overall effect is a seamless blend of old and new content in one cohesive visual style.
