How to Make a Resource Pack Show Different Textures Based on Conditions
What conditional resources do
Respackopts lets a pack swap textures, models, or other assets depending on conditions rather than shipping one fixed set. As a pack author you define these conditions in the pack's Respackopts config, and players toggle or select them through the in-game menu. This is how a single pack can offer, for example, alternate styles that the player picks between without editing files.
Setting up the condition
Add a Respackopts config file to your pack describing the option — its type (toggle, dropdown, slider, etc.), its default, and the values it can take. Then reference that option from your resource definitions so the correct asset is chosen when the condition matches. The exact file layout and property names come from the Respackopts documentation; follow its schema rather than guessing keys, since an invalid config will simply not produce a menu.
Testing and reloading
Enable your pack, open its config menu, and flip the option. Reload resources to see the result. Respackopts caches parsing and computations, so the initial evaluation after a change is the slow part and later lookups are fast. If no menu appears, the config file is missing, misnamed, or malformed — check that first before debugging your resource paths. Keep conditions simple at first, confirm one works end to end, then layer on more.
