How to Fix a Missing Resourceful Lib Error When Launching Minecraft
Why the Error Happens
Resourceful Lib is a shared library, not a content mod. Many mods (especially those from the same development ecosystem) declare it as a required dependency. If you launch the game with one of those mods installed but Resourceful Lib absent, the loader halts with a "missing dependency" or "requires resourceful lib" screen before the main menu ever appears. The fix is almost always about matching the library to the loader and game version your other mods expect.
Step-by-Step Fix
1. Read the crash log or the red dependency screen carefully. It names the exact mod that needs the library.
2. Check which mod loader you are running (Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge) and which Minecraft version your modpack targets.
3. Download the Resourceful Lib build that matches that loader and game version. A Fabric build will not satisfy a Forge mod, and vice versa.
4. Drop the jar into your mods folder alongside the dependent mod. Do not rename it.
5. Delete any older duplicate copies of Resourceful Lib — two versions in the same folder cause their own conflicts.
6. Relaunch. If the error persists, the dependent mod may need a newer library build than you have; update both together.
If It Still Fails
Temporarily remove the mod that demands the library to confirm the rest of your pack loads. Then add them back as a matched pair.
