How to Diagnose Crashes Caused by a Resourceful Lib Version Mismatch

Recognizing a Mismatch

Version mismatches are the most common Resourceful Lib problem. They usually surface as a crash during startup, a "NoSuchMethod" or "ClassNotFound" style error in the log, or a dependent mod failing to initialize. The cause is simple: a mod was built against a newer or older library API than the one you have installed.

Reading the Log

1. Open your latest crash report or latest.log.

2. Search for "resourceful" to find the first line mentioning it.

3. Note which mod triggered the failure — it is usually named in the stack trace just above the library reference.

4. Compare the library version in your mods folder against what that mod's page lists as its requirement.

Resolving It

  • If the dependent mod needs a newer library, update Resourceful Lib.
  • If updating the library breaks a different mod, you have a conflict: one mod wants an older API, another a newer one. Update the older mod so both agree.
  • Remove any second copy of the library. Duplicates are a frequent hidden cause of these crashes.
  • Keep the library and all mods that depend on it updated as a set rather than individually.

When to Suspect Something Else

If the log shows no mention of Resourceful Lib at all, the crash likely comes from an unrelated mod, and the library is a red herring.
