How to Find a Specific Setting in a Large Resourceful Config

Mods with many options can produce a long, scrolling config screen. Resourceful Config includes tools to help you jump straight to the setting you need instead of hunting through every category.

Using Search and Categories

1. Open the mod's Config screen from the Mods list.

2. If a search box is available, type part of the option's name. The list filters down to matching entries, so you can find things like a specific toggle without knowing which category it lives in.

3. If there is no search, use the category tabs or collapsible groups. Options are organized by theme, so a setting about world generation sits under a world-related category, and so on.

4. Expand collapsed sections to reveal the options inside them.

Reading Option Details

  • Many options include a short description or tooltip. Hover over or click the option to read what it does and what values are valid.
  • Note whether an option is marked as requiring a restart, since that tells you whether a change will apply right away.
  • If you cannot find a setting, it may belong to a different mod entirely. Check which mod actually owns the feature before assuming it is missing.

Once located, edit the value with its control and save. Searching by name is usually the fastest route in configs with dozens of entries.
