How to Set Up Default Resource Packs That Always Stay Enabled
Finding the Config File
After launching the game once with the mod installed, a configuration file is generated in your instance's config folder. Open it with any text editor. You will see a section where you can list resource pack file names — these are the exact names of the .zip files or folders inside your resourcepacks directory, not the display names shown in-game.
Adding Packs to the Default List
Add each pack's filename to the default list in the order you want them applied. Packs listed first load first, so put foundational packs (like mod resource assets) at the top and cosmetic overrides below. Save the file.
Verifying In-Game
Launch Minecraft and open the resource pack selection screen. Your listed packs should already be enabled and positioned in your chosen order. Try disabling one — if it is locked, it will snap back or refuse to move. If a pack fails to load, the mod re-applies the default list on the next reload so your pack setup never breaks.
Handling Reloads
If you edit the config while the game is running, you can press the reload key on the resource pack screen to re-read the configuration without restarting. This is useful when iterating on pack order or testing new additions.
