How to Hide Required Resource Packs From the Selection Screen

Why Hide Packs

Modpacks often ship with packs that must stay active for textures, models, or UI to work correctly. Hiding them prevents players from accidentally toggling them off and breaking the pack's visuals.

Marking a Pack as Hidden

Open the mod's config file and locate the entry for the pack you want to hide. Set its hidden flag to true (or add it to the hidden list, depending on your config layout). Use the exact filename of the pack as it appears in the resourcepacks folder.

Combining With Locking

Hiding alone removes the pack from the selection UI, but you may also want to lock it so it cannot be reordered or disabled through other means. Locking and hiding together gives the strongest guarantee that the pack stays active.

Checking the Result

Return to the resource pack screen. The hidden pack should no longer appear in the list, yet its assets are still applied in-game. If it still shows, double-check the filename spelling and confirm you saved the config before reloading. Press the reload key on the selection screen to apply changes without a full restart.
