How to Explore Repurposed Structures Dungeons and Mineshafts Safely

Why These Dungeons Differ

Repurposed Structures adds biome-flavored dungeons and mineshafts that use the local stone and wood types. A dungeon in a mesa biome might be built from terracotta and granite, while a swamp dungeon uses mud bricks and dark oak. The layouts are also rearranged, so you cannot rely on muscle memory from vanilla dungeons.

Preparation Before You Descend

1. Carry a stack of torches, a water bucket, and blocks for bridging. Many of these dungeons have open shafts and gaps that vanilla ones do not.

2. Bring a shield. Spawner rooms are still present and mobs can appear in tighter corridors than you expect.

3. Mark your entrance with a distinctive block or a torch tower so you can find your way back up.

Navigating the Layout

Mineshafts from this mod often connect to cave systems rather than forming a single isolated grid, so light every corridor as you go. Dungeon chests are placed in small side rooms rather than one central chamber, so clear each branch before moving on. If you find a spawner, either light the area to disable it or break it after clearing mobs. Because the mod uses only vanilla blocks, any tool that works on stone or wood in vanilla will work here, and nothing requires special gear to mine.
