Troubleshooting Saplings That Won't Grow into Swamp Trees
Verify Your Biome
Confirm you're actually in a swamp biome. Use F3 (Java Edition) or equivalent debug screens to check your current biome. If the biome shows as something else (like forest or plains), saplings will grow as regular oak trees instead. Move to a confirmed swamp location.
Check Light and Growth Conditions
1. Ensure saplings receive adequate light—at least 8-9 light levels is ideal
2. Remove any blocks directly above the sapling that might block growth
3. Leave sufficient vertical space (at least 7-8 blocks) for the tree to expand
Tree growth in Minecraft relies on random tick events. If your sapling isn't growing, it simply hasn't received a growth tick yet.
Confirm Mod Installation
If saplings still grow as regular oaks in swamps, verify the mod is properly installed and enabled in your mod loader. Check your mod list to ensure it's active.
