Stop Villagers from Trading Banned Items

Ban the Item First

Add the item to your ban list in your configuration file using its full identifier. This single step handles both removal and villager restrictions.

Reload and Test

Run /reload in-game. The mod automatically updates all active villager trades—banned items vanish from their menus without affecting other trades.

How It Works

When you ban an item, the mod doesn't just hide it; it removes it from the villager's trade pool entirely. Existing villagers update when you reload, and newly spawned villagers won't offer the banned item either.

Partial Banning by Dimension

If you want villagers in the Overworld to trade an item but not in the Nether, use the mod's dimension-specific ban folders. Create separate configuration folders for each world type, and the mod applies the correct rules based on where the villager is located.

Check Your Work

Open a villager's trade menu. Scroll through all available trades to confirm the banned item is gone.
