Modifying Item Tags

Tags organize items into categories (like "planks" or "logs"). Reliable Recipes Mod lets you edit these without code.

1. Locate your mod's tag configuration files in the config directory

2. Open the tag file you want to modify (tags use JSON format)

3. To add an item: include its item ID in the tag's item list

4. To remove an item: delete its entry from the list

5. Save and reload your game

Common Use Cases

You might want to add a custom block to the "planks" tag so it works in recipes that accept planks. Or remove an item from a tag to prevent it being used as a substitute in crafting. Changes take effect immediately on reload, letting you test different configurations quickly.

Use standard Minecraft item IDs (like minecraft:oak_planks) in your tag files.
