Prepare for Nighttime Zombie Encounters
Understand Extended Threat Windows
Zombies no longer burn in sunlight, meaning they hunt during day and night. Nighttime becomes significantly more dangerous because zombie spawning rates increase while your visibility decreases.
Nighttime Preparation
Light your perimeter aggressively: Place torches, lanterns, or other light sources in a wide ring around your base. Zombies spawn less in lit areas, reducing horde size before they even reach you.
Stay indoors: Keep your main activities inside well-lit structures during night. Minimize time in open areas where zombies can swarm and stack freely.
Set up listening posts: Position yourself where you can hear zombies approaching. Their groans now indicate a persistent threat rather than a temporary nuisance.
Prepare weapons and supplies: Stock your base with healing items, weapons, and building blocks before sunset. You won't have the option to escape into daylight safety.
Consider temporary shelters: If you're far from base at dusk, build a small fortified shelter rather than attempting to travel. Nighttime travel invites zombie stacking and coordinated attacks.
Monitor your surroundings: Use high vantage points to spot approaching hordes before they reach your position, giving you time to reinforce or relocate.
