Optimize Your Base Layout Against All Zombie Mechanics
Plan Multi-Layer Defense
Design your base assuming zombies can climb, swim, and survive any fall. Single-layer defenses will fail.
Base Design Principles
Separate your base into zones: Create an outer perimeter, middle defensive ring, and inner safe room. Each layer should be independently defensible.
Combine barriers: Use walls + water + lighting together. A wall alone can be climbed; water alone can be swum through; but water at the base of a tall wall with good lighting creates redundancy.
Elevate your main structures: Place your main base at least 6-8 blocks high with no ramps or stairways leading up. Zombies will stack, but the height makes it slower and gives you time to respond.
Install kill zones: Position lava, suffocation traps, or fall damage areas where zombie towers naturally form. Force them to choose between taking damage or abandoning the stack.
Maintain clear sightlines: Remove vegetation and terrain features that could serve as stepping stones. Every block a zombie can stand on is a potential tower component.
Test your defenses: Intentionally trigger a zombie horde near your base to identify weak points before a real siege.
