Setting Up Your First Nexus Defense

Getting Started

Craft a Nexus Core and place it in the center of your fortified base. Then craft a Nexus Catalyst and insert it into the core to begin the invasion.

Before activating, prepare defensive structures and gather weapons. Mobs will spawn in waves and actively work to destroy your core—they dig through walls, build bridges across gaps, and place ladders to breach defenses.

Defend using specialized gear like Rift Traps, Flame Traps, and Infused Swords. You can tame a wolf with a Strange Bone to guard the perimeter. Each wave grows harder, eventually spawning boss-tier enemies like the Wither and Warden.

Use the Engineer's Hammer to monitor your active Nexus setup. Survive all waves without letting attackers destroy the core to complete the challenge.
