Set Up a Fully Automated Crop Farm

Building the Farm Layout

Start by creating a standard farmland plot with water channels for hydration. Plant your wheat, carrots, potatoes, or beetroot in rows. Position a Harvester block adjacent to or above your crops—it can be placed on any side that faces the planted area.

Automating the Harvest Cycle

Connect redstone to your Harvester and set up a repeating pulse using a redstone clock or observer. When the Harvester receives a redstone signal, it will automatically gather all fully grown crops in front of it and replant seeds in their place. The harvested items drop into the world as entities.

To collect these items, place an Item Drain below or beside the farm area. Connect it to a hopper leading into storage, or let items fall directly into a collection point. The Item Drain will eject any items that land on or pass through it, making it perfect for funneling your harvest into chests or further processing systems.

Scaling Up

For larger farms, use multiple Harvesters on different sections and synchronize their redstone signals. This creates a coordinated harvest across your entire operation without manual intervention.
