Playing Minecraft as an RTS

Reign of Nether turns Minecraft into a real-time strategy game. Instead of controlling one character in first person, you get a top-down isometric camera that you pan with the mouse or keyboard, giving you an aerial view of the world.

From there you command units and buildings using classic RTS controls: box selection to grab groups of units, attack-move orders, and control groups for quick access to your forces. You gather food, wood and ore, with automated foraging, farming and dropoffs handling much of the busywork so you can focus on strategy.

Three races are playable: Villagers, Monsters and Piglins. Research and upgrades let you develop your chosen side over a match. Multiplayer is supported, with starting and win conditions defining each game. Expect to make fast decisions and react to whatever your opponent throws at you.
