Power a Beacon with Redstone Dust

Understanding Redstone Dust Payment

Unlike vanilla beacons that accept ingots, redstone beacons are powered by redstone dust. This makes them more accessible early in your playthrough since redstone dust is easier to obtain than processed ingots.

Adding Redstone Dust

1. Approach your completed redstone beacon base

2. Right-click the beacon block to open its interface

3. Place redstone dust into the payment slot

4. The beacon will activate and begin granting effects

Continuous Operation

Redstone dust is consumed as the beacon operates. Monitor your beacon's inventory and add more redstone dust as needed to maintain the effect. The consumption rate depends on how many effect layers your beacon has and which effects are active.

You can automate this process by using hoppers or other redstone contraptions to feed redstone dust into the beacon automatically, ensuring uninterrupted beacon effects for your base.
