Build Your First Redstone Beacon Base

Gathering Materials

Collect redstone blocks from your mining operations or craft them from redstone dust. You'll need multiple redstone blocks to construct the pyramid layers of your beacon base.

Construction Steps

1. Choose a flat location for your beacon base

2. Place redstone blocks in a square pattern on the ground (the largest layer)

3. Stack a smaller square of redstone blocks on top of the first layer

4. Add an even smaller square as the third layer

5. Place your beacon block on top of the pyramid

6. Place redstone dust in the beacon's inventory to activate it

Activation

Once your three-layered redstone beacon base is complete and powered with redstone dust, the beacon will emit a beam and grant nearby players status effects. The effects available depend on your beacon's configuration. Stand within the beacon's effect radius to receive the benefits.

Redstone beacons work identically to vanilla beacons in terms of layering and effect mechanics—only the building material and payment method differ.
